Blue Scorpion was established in April 2003,
when a car dealer friend approached me with a problem.
He said that he was keen to move the business forward by implementing
a website, but had three quotes from local companies that were
so high it was not feasible for the business to move forward with
this technology, and did I know anyone that could do this cheaper?
I asked what it was he was looking to achieve. He said that all
he wants is a low cost website which looks professional and one
that he could update himself with little technical knowledge and
cost. The main point was that he wants to pay a small monthly
fee rather than a big upfront cost and then on going fees to maintain
the website.
After trying to find someone to do this, with little hope, I
decided to team up with a web developer that I knew very well
and design a solution that would meet the needs of this car dealer.
We worked closely with car dealers and created a completely web
based solution called Autoshowrooms, this was a template website
with a back end login area, where the car dealer could edit the
company details including opening times, map, company name, numbers,
vehicles in stock, vehicle pictures and all the details that is
required to update stock on-line and remove sold vehicles.
It then became apparent that there were many people in the same
situation, that needed such a solution so one year after the launch
of Autoshowrooms and the success following this system, we decided
to develop a further innovative, stock control system which can
run locally, without the need to be connected to the internet.
This product can generate a host of reports and update the website
in a fashion which makes it quicker and easier for the medium
sized dealer. In order to develop this we offered a share of our
company and split the company into three equal shares in order to
take on a very experienced developer. We named this product Autoshowrooms V2.0 and this
was successfully launched in July 2005.
It has functionality on functionality…. The software even
checks for updates when you load it so if there is a new feature
available as we develop the solution further you will get it,
which means the software will grow as your business needs grow.
In February 2007, we started developing a new solution for
various business sectors, which is designed and being marketed
around increasing a companies profile, revenue and customer
service levels. This product will be launched in October
