Cyber Protect

Entry level network protection for your retail or service-industry business.

Cyber Protect

What is Cyber Protect?

Cyber Protect is our entry level network security option, and it can be set up by you as soon as you receive it.

  • Quick deployment of EPOS systems or PIN Entry Devices (PED) into complex network environments
  • Choice of WiFi only or 5 port IP Protect Lite firewall security device, that can connect to EPOS wired EPOS systems and payment terminals
  • Blocks inbound network traffic to combat cyber security attacks
  • Creates a secure network environment

Protecting EPOS systems

For businesses of all sizes operating in the retail/services sector, card payments are increasingly overtaking cash as the method of payment. If you are finding yourself processing more Chip & PIN payments and handling less cash, then you need to know that your customers' payments are fully secure.

This is also true if you work business to business and distribute your own Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) systems - all payment technology must be secure for your customers' complete peace of mind, especially when you are putting your name to it.

Our Cyber Protect solution has the power to protect your EPOS systems, and best of all, it can be up and running very quickly. Start making your business more secure and protect your customers (and potentially avoid Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) non-compliance fines via the IP Protect Lite solution upgrade path) - starting from the moment you open the box and plug in your device.

Who is Cyber Protect for?

Cyber Protect is for businesses operating in the retail and service sectors. It is generally used in two different markets: small retailers directly, or larger channel partners that are distributing EPOS systems or PIN Entry Devices.

Cyber Protect for small retailers

Cyber Protect is perfect for small retailers needing a fast network security solution. It is quick to set up, so you can have secure payment technology up and running rapidly. All you will need to do is follow the simple instructions to plug in your device and get it up and running.

Cyber Protect for larger channel partners supplying EPOS systems or PIN Entry Devices

Many of our Cyber Protect customers are larger retailers who are distributing their own EPOS systems or PIN Entry Devices. This ensures that all networks are secure and you are providing your own customers with a trustworthy product.

This is all you will need to do:

  1. Plug in your device, making sure you note down the serial number
  2. Log into the portal to add your customer and set up the device
  3. Connect and authorise the EPOS terminal
  4. Pack it into the box and send to your customer...

...it's that simple! All Cyber Protect products come with full instructions to guide you through the setup process.

PCI DSS and adhering to standards

Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards, known as PCI DSS, are the standards that govern payments across Europe. Failure to comply with these standards may incur a fine from your Acquirer. The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) set these standards, which apply to all businesses.

However, many businesses aren't aware of this - especially small businesses, or those just setting up their business offering. As an SME, it's likely that you process fewer payments and won't need to do as much in order to comply. However, it is still very important that you meet your obligations. Just imagine if you found out that one of your suppliers wasn't PCI DSS compliant and your payments were being compromised. There would be a lack of trust between you, and you might even move your business elsewhere. Don't put your own customers in this position - make sure you protect all card payments.

One of the best parts of working with us is our experience in PCI DSS. We can advise you on everything you need to know to help make those potential fines go away; we will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
